Cheerleading Safety From AACCA. Solutions to address the risks involved in cheerleading.

AACCA is working with several collegiate athletics associations and educational camp providers to estimate the number of college cheerleading participants. Among other things, this figure is important in accurately determining the risk of catastrophic injury associated with college cheerleading.

If you are attending a summer college camp, you should be presented a form to complete. Please include only cheerleaders on this form and not mascots or dance team members. Be sure to include all cheerleaders at the institution, not only those attending camp.

If your teams do not attend an overnight camp or you did not complete this form at a camp, please help us complete the study by sending an email as outlined below.

1. Submissions can only be made by a coach or administrator and should come from a school email account.  If a school account is not available, we may contact the school to verify the accuracy of the information.
2. Include only members of the cheerleading program. No mascots or dance team members.
3. List each “type” of team separately.
4. Please try to accurately portray the type of team as best as you can.
